Off-Roading

For those of you who don't know, Dayton Idaho is a pretty happening place. :) We recently discovered this because of our friends Clarke and Michelle. They are Dayton residents and they have been showing us the best that Dayton has to offer.

Brock loves to go motorcycling and Clarke said he had a cool place for them to go ride. Luckily they wanted to involve their wives in this adventure. The boys rode their motorcycles and Michelle, Boston, and I rode in their families Ranger. (One day I'd like to own one myself!)

We rode up the canyon behind their house and had a blast. It was still pretty muddy in places so we got to drive through some pretty big mud holes. Boston rode strapped into the seat between Michelle and I and he LOVED it. As soon as we started going he got so excited. He is still learning how to express emotion so it was fun to watch him. His legs and arms were going about 90 mph, his shoulders and nose were scrunched, and he grinned from ear to ear. I should have gotten a video of it because it was priceless. Pictures just don't do it justice!

Boston gets his love of anything with wheels and a motor from his dad. Any time he hears a motorcycle or a loud truck he stops whatever he is doing and looks for it.

With two grown men on motorcycles, you can't go off-roading without a friendly competition right? Brock and Clarke found a jump and they kept trying to see who could get the best distance. Brock would get the farthest and then Clarke would say, " I cannot let that stand!" Then Clarke would beat the record and Brock would have to try again. Michelle and I thought we were going to have to stay there all night!

After the guys were done with their competition, we thought we were ready to head for home. But Brock had another idea up his sleeve. Last summer Brock was teaching me how to ride his motorcycle. He thought this was a good place for me to practice. I was reluctant at first, but I did it because I knew he wouldn't let me leave until I tried. I actually had a lot of fun and had to go for one more ride before we left.

We really appreciate the Winwards and their hospitality. They always show us a great time. We all loved it! It was one of the funnest things I've done in a while. Thanks again, we had such a great time!

Willow Park/Zoo

I was doing so good at keeping up on our blog and then life got crazy! Here's a catch up of the last month.
A few weeks ago we went to Willow Park and the Zoo with Deven and Tiff and their niece Kamille. We had a lot of fun looking at all the animals....Mainly Birds! :) Brock said that they suck you in by putting the coolest animals (monkeys) right were you pay to get in and then the rest is birds! It seemed kind of true but it was still a lot of fun.

After the zoo, we went to the park to play. I'm not sure who enjoyed it more.....Boston or Brock! Brock kept saying, "I bet Bos will like this." He was right. Boston loved the park, Especially the swing. Brock is such a great dad. He is always willing to help with Boston. They are such good pals!

Lovin' Life in Lava

Last weekend we went to Lava Hot Springs. We went with my roommates from my freshman year at BYU Idaho. We rented a little house there and spent the weekend with them. There were 4 couples, 3 kids, and 2 buns in the oven (two separate ovens). It was long overdue! We had a great time. The boys went golfing (two times in one day) and left us girls alone to catch up. (They said they did it for us.......but there may have been other motives!)
All of us went to Lava Hot Springs and went swimming. It was so interesting to see the different personalities of the little kids. Sydney was a pretty timid in the water and didn't want mom to be far away. The boys were a little less afraid. Brighton thought swimming was pretty cool, he even liked to go all the way under the water. Boston just kicked back and relaxed. When I got him out of the tube he thought it was time to splash. That boy loves the water and he loves to see what happens when he splashes. What a boy! The big boys on the other hand, spent their time on the water slides and the high dive. The weekend was spent mainly eating and catching up. It was loads of fun and like I said before, long overdue!
Here are some pics from the weekend.

Brock and I have been so lucky to be blessed with so many great friends. Unfortunately, THEY ARE ALL MOVING! This past year we have had several of our friends move for school or work and it is a bummer. We love Logan, but our friends are quickly diminishing. We now have friends in Boise, Rexburg, Orem, Farmington/Kaysville, Kansas, Arizona, Missouri, and others. We miss you guys and hope all is going well for you and your families. We are just waiting for the news that you are all coming back to Logan!

Awesome 2 weeks!

We have had a busy couple of weeks, but they have been awesome! I'll start from the beginning just so I can keep track of all of it. We started out with National Learn to Fly Day. Brock has a love for helicopters and has even got to fly them a couple of times. (It's what he wants to do when he grows up!) Brock and a few friends signed up to fly and so Boston and I went to watch. This is Brock and Boston waiting for Brock's turn to fly, Brock flying the helicopter, and Boston after all the excitement! He was plum tuckered!

Later that day we went with Shaun and Alyssa to the metropolis of Dayton, Idaho! Our friends Clark and Michelle live there and we went to shoot skeet in a canyon by their house. It was beautiful. I had a fun time watching the boys be boys and I even shot a few times myself. I did pretty good if you ask me!

The next weekend was even better. We got to see two of our best friends be sealed for time and all eternity! What an awesome experience. We are so happy for you two and love you so much!

The next day I did something that is nearly impossible to do......I surprised Brock! I know that sounds silly, but he is very hard to surprise. I threw him a surprise party (a few days early) with our families. We all got to go to dinner together and celebrate Brock's birthday. I am quite proud to say that I actually Surprised him! :) After the party we went swimming with my family. Boston loved it!

On Brock's Birthday we had some delicious Chocolate Roll with some good friends. Brock got a RC Helicopter. He couldn't hardly wait for it to charge.

On another note, Boston is getting so big! He is now crawling like a mad-man. He goes anywhere he wants and at 90 mph. He recently cut 3 teeth and is working on a 4th. That makes a total of 6! He claps, waves, and holds his hand up so you can give him 5! He loves to eat anything you give him. He ate spaghetti for the first time the other night and LOVED it. He also likes to be a "nakey" boy. He has started to associate Brock and I with different things. Mom feeds him and Dad means it's bathtime! He loves to get in the bath with Dad and Mr. Rubber Ducky! What a boy! We love him and can't imagine life without him!

MOM

Happy Mother's day! This morning I woke up to my awesome husband holding my sweet little boy. They were both smiling at me and Boston was holding a card that said "mommy" on the front. (What a way to wake up right?) Brock told me that Boston had woken him up early and asked him to write a card for me since he obviously couldn't write it himself. I admit I might have cried just a little bit. I love my boys! I am so grateful to have them and thanks for making this an awesome Mother's day! (thanks Brock for writing the card "for Boston")

Being a mom is an overwhelming and awesome responsibility. Those sweet little people depend on you so much and it is up to you to take care of their needs. I am so humbled to have the chance to be Boston's mom. I am so grateful that my Father in Heaven has trusted me enough to send him to me. I love him so much and I hope that I am a good mom to him.

I'm am very lucky to have so many examples of what a great mom is in my life. I have friends, aunts, cousins, mothers-in-law, grandmas, and most of all my mom! My mom is an amazing woman. She is so giving and always puts her family above herself. There has never been a time when she is too busy to help me or listen to me. If you know me, you know that my mom is my best friend. I can't go a day without talking to my mom. Whether it's just a quick hi or to ask advice I have to talk to her. I have learned everything I know about being a good mom from her. Even now that I'm married and have a house of my own there is nothing like going home and spending time with my mom. My mom and I make a great team! We can do anything when we do it together. Even tasks that I hate (like laundry) are fun when I get to do it with her.

Mom, I know that I will be a good mom if I just do the things I've learned from you! I love you so much and thanks for always being there for me. You are my best friend! I love you Mom!

Trying a new thing...

So I know I haven't been very good at this (obviously). I'm going to try to get better! So an update for the past 7 months. On September 22, 2010 Boston Brock Boulter came into this world. It was a wonderful day and it's been nothing but awesome ever since. Boston is a great baby. He sleeps through the night, he eats well, and he is always happy! How did I get so blessed?
I went back to work in January. I now work part-time in Orthopedics. It is so hard to leave Boston, but Brock keeps reminding me that it is good for both of us. Once I get to work I do ok it is just so hard to leave him. Brock's mom watches him in the mornings and Brock watches him in the afternoons since he goes to work at 4 am he gets home at 12:30. (Thanks Brock for all the sacrifices you make to take such good care of us.) If I have to leave him at least it's with family.
Boston is now just over 7 months old and just about 20 pounds! What a chunky boy. :) I love the chub! He sits up and rolling is his main mode of transportation. He has his bottom two teeth and loves chewing on anything and everything he can get his hands on.
I love being a mom! Words can't begin to describe how I feel about my family. Brock and I are so very blessed and we are loving our life!
